Monday morning combo inspo for youuuu: Dragontail (or variation), Cover Photo Shape, Football Grip Butterfly. I did this combo on static, but it would be so beautiful on spin as well. I hope some of you try it! Tag me pretty please. Seeing your videos always inspires me 🥰

TIP: If you try this, pay attention to the fact that the leg that is hooked in the cover photo shape doesn’t move when transitioning to the football grip butterfly. I can’t tell you how many times I moved that leg above my other leg and then found myself in a tangled mess when trying to open to the butterfly 😂😂

This happens often and is actually very normal. But why?

Another fun static combo with a flip dismount! The twisty brass transition took several tries to figure out.. I think it finally clicked when I just went for it instead of hesitating!

Had so much fun trying this one from @natashawangpole 🤸🏽‍♀️And added a little roll out at the end 😂  This was definitely not a “one and done” combo. It took a few attempts to work out the spacing of how far away the hand needed to be placed on the floor to be able to balance that first one armed handstand shape.   Loved it! Thanks Natasha ❤️

I totally get it. Most of us have a favorite side, and there’s a reason for that. But consistently avoiding the other side can start to show up as nagging aches, little injuries, muscle imbalances, or getting stuck in certain combos and transitions. No one wants that!

Training both sides also doesn’t mean everything has to be equal all the time. Especially during competition prep or high-volume training seasons. Sometimes it looks like variations, slowing down entries, or adding off-the-pole work that supports the move pattern without piling on more stress.

Enjoy my excitement as I tried this transition for the first time 🥰 Tangled Split to Marion Amber. Yay!!

Inspired by @aerial_allie, and thank you to my App subscriber Susan for sending this my way 💜

I usually do Marion Amber in cup grip, so I wasn’t sure how this twisted grip would feel, but with all the active flexibility and shoulder cross-training I do, my body actually felt totally fine in it! 
If you decide to try this one, I highly recommend a spotter and crash pad if you have access. Safety first always 🙏🏼

One big thing I noticed after a few attempts: that inward press into the pole with the top leg (my left leg here) was key for me to feel secure enough to regrip the top hand. You’ll see me adjust that press around the 10-second mark!

To my own standards, this attempt was not clean at all. But that’s not a reason not to share it hehe. It was fun, and I hope it inspires you to enjoy your pole sessions even when things don’t feel “perfect” 🤍

What made this combo especially challenging for me was that it forced me onto my 2nd awesome side:

This is why I always say the subscribers on my app are such a huge inspiration for me. When one of my subscribers, @kanzascity, asked about this one, I was so excited to get into the studio to try it- because I’d never done it before- and I ended up having a blast with it!

Just like any grip change we do (whether it’s from shoulder mount or ayesha), the upward motion of the hips that you see me doing in the beginning is an important part. We have to create that upward momentum of the body in order to have time to safely switch one hand to a different grip. Practicing those upward bounces can be an excellent place to start 🙌🏼
