Who is guilty of this? Training SO hard to achieve a really difficult trick on one side and just the thought of trying it on the 2nd awesome side seems daunting? 😅

It’s okay! I do it too! However, instead of thinking “I have to do the exact same thing on both sides”... Think “How can I put my body in a similar position, using the similar muscles, but in an achievable way?” 🤔 This will help you balance your strength and helps you avoid overtraining your better side.

Examples of how to think about approaching different tricks on your 2nd awesome side:
🩰Ballerina? Do it from the floor!
✨Jade? Do a strong invert to no handed Gemini & an active split drill on the floor
🤸🏽‍♀️Handspring? Invert to Extended Butterfly or D

Pole Combo 82 inside the Pole with Steph App (ios & android & www.polewithsteph.com)!

Combo inspired by @vertically_inverted_alex! And it brought back a memory from my competition days when I was training 4 hrs/ day, 6 days/ week (yes, I was injured alot 😅). So, I would do these insane "climbing" warm ups... normal climbs, circus climbs, reiko mount climbs, shoulder mount climbs... AND the most inefficient climb ever... the inside leg hang climb (which is exactly how this combo ends) 😂 I'm glad the combo ended with it, because in this current season of pole, 1 of those inefficient climbs is about all I have in me!!

Anyone else have any competition training stories to share? Would love to hear!!

There are several different factors involved when it comes to what grip aid (or a combination of grip aids) is going to work best for you.
